The Agility Club of Western Australia

The Agility Club of Western Australia is Perth’s only dog club which focuses solely on the dog sport of agility.

Training is held on Tuesday evening on the lower arena at the Dogs West grounds, Cnr Ranford and Warton Roads, Southern River.

Training night is divided into two groups:  Instructed and Training.

INSTRUCTED
Instructed groups are designed for members whose dogs are not yet competing in agility trials and wish to receive instruction. 
Each group has a limit of 10 dogs per instructor and runs for one hour, except for the puppy classes, which run for half an hour.

Instructed groups are determined by the dog’s experience/age level.

These are:

  • Puppy 1  -  Dogs under 12 months new to the Club
  • Puppy 2  -  Dogs under 12 months who have passed Puppy 1
  • Adult Foundation 1 -  Dogs 12 months onwards new to the Club
  • Adult Foundation 2 – Dogs who have passed Puppy 1 / 2 or Adult Foundation 1
  • Adult Foundation 3  -  Dogs who have passed Adult Foundation 2
  • Elementary
  • Pre-Novice
  • Novice

Class Times:     6.30 – 7.00pm  Equipment setup
                        7.00 – 8.00pm  Instruction
                      (Puppy 1: 7.00 – 7.30        Puppy 2: 7.30 – 8.00)

TRAINING
Training groups are designed for members whose dogs are competing in agility trials and wish to use the equipment
to train their dogs.  Four sequences are set up, two agility and two jumping and divided into different height groups.
Two rotations of half an hour, one agility and one jumping sequence.

Training time:  8.00 – 8.15pm Sequence setup and walking
                        8.15 – 9.15pm  Training
                        9.15 – 9.30pm  Pack up equipment

Instruction fees: $5.00 per night (Puppy Class $2.50) x nights per term
